The coverage of WWE in Beyond the Mat was naturally going to be extensive, but Barry took it to the top level at the earliest possible point, breaching WWF headquarters and conducting an interview with Vincent K McMahon himself. The strings this filmmaker had to pull would have been immense.

During those conversations, along with the entertaining recruitment process of Darren Drozdov, Blaustein manages to portray the most powerful man in the wrestling business in a very natural setting, allowing the coverage to be as candid as that of anyone else in the documentary. As a bonus, the depth of this coverage also gave rise to the iconic slogans of "We make movies" and "HE'S GONNA PUKE!"

Especially back then, when on-screen personas were closely guarded, the Vince footage served as an indispensable insight into the real human beyond the character. Whilst there was definitely a lot more going on in the business behind closed doors, the captured moments of the boss certainly went some way towards demystifying his legendary craziness.
