8 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (15 April)

2. Retirement Who?

Jazz lost a match to Deonna Purrazzo at Hardcore Justice. Per the stipulation, she was forced into retirement, yet, it seems as if IMPACT executives have already forgotten about said stipulation.

First off, Jazz and Jordynne Grace were interrupted by Fire N Flava, quickly defeating the Knockouts Tag Team Champions in a short bout. Jazz’s weak Michinoku Driver spelt the end of a dull encounter. Having Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz interrupt Jordynne and Jazz was tedious enough; the few minutes of action was pointless.

Furthermore, Jazz’s retirement speech just didn’t work. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact there wasn’t a live audience there to soak it up, but she delivered the speech with a rather emotionless tone, like she was reading from a script. If this genuinely was her last appearance in the IMPACT Zone, it’s not a great way to go out.

A backstage segment after this also saw Scott D’Amore give Jazz and Jordynne a title shot at Rebellion, with Jazz insisting she give up her spot to someone else. Didn’t she just announce her retirement? Thankfully someone else will be teaming with ‘Thicc Mama Pump’. Taylor Wilde? Thea Trinidad? We can hope.
