8 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Feb 11)
7. Everyone Else Benefits
While the involvement of Johnny Swinger with Willie Mack may be classed as a Down, what Swinger did in Mack's match with Shera gets an Up, simply because it benefited everyone else involved - Mack, Shera, and Shera's Desi Hit Squad partner Rohit Raju.
Swinger ran down with a steel chair to save 'Chocolate Thunder' from a beatdown at the hands of the DHS, with Raju causing a disqualification by ambushing Mack as he was beating down on Shera in the corner. From there, the match was restarted as a tag team encounter, with Mack and Swinger being oddball partners, as you would imagine. Because of that, it allowed Shera and Raju to dominate slightly, hammering their opponents wherever possible.
There was no way on Earth Swinger and Mack would be on the same page at any point in this match, which was shown when the former tagged himself, before attempting to go for a double clothesline. Having none of it, Mack was then dragged out of the ring by Gama Singh, distracting him long enough to allow the DHS to nail 'The Swing Man' with their knee strike/Sky High combination for the three count.
It wasn't anything huge, but this small moment helped The Desi Hit Squad massively. They always seem to be on and off with regards to their momentum in Impact, but this match (well, matches) pushed them forward to whatever's next. Of course, it also helped further develop the Johnny Swinger/Willie Mack story, perhaps with the former finally realising that 'Chocolate Thunder' isn't the partner for him since they lost their first match as a team.
