8 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (May 19)
2. And Then There Were Two
Madman Fulton has officially departed oVe, choking out both Dave and Jake Crist following the former's loss in singles competition to Crazzy Steve. There are no bad words to say about this.
It's been a constant saying on this column that Fulton needs to go out on his own, especially after Sami Callihan departed the group at Rebellion. Having him lose to Hernandez in the opening round of the ongoing tournament seemed like Fulton was going to continue to be kept back from reaching his full potential within Impact Wrestling, so seeing him leave Dave and Jake as nothing more than a memory is a step in the right direction for the former Sawyer Fulton.
When you look at the other side of the spectrum though, it's also a good thing for the Crist brothers, as they can now go back to being recognised as one of the best tag teams in Impact Wrestling today. As part of the full oVe quartet, they were seemingly an afterthought in a way, being shoved out the way to allow everyone to see how great Callihan and Fulton are. Without anyone else by their side, the future looks bright for the former World Tag Team Champions.
Thumbs up. No thumbs down. This was exceptional.
