8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (13 Jan - Results & Review)
7. The First Odd-Time Ending
When WWE announced it was moving Raw to Netflix, one of the first realizations many made was that the company would no longer have to fret over a “hard out” at exactly three hours, which had plagued Raw several times in recent years.
As a streaming service, Netflix affords WWE the opportunity to have an easy overrun if things go long, or to wrap up early if they finish telling their stories in less than three hours. The debut episode last week ran over three hours by a few minutes, which wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary.
Monday night, however, Raw wrapped up at just past two-and-a-half hours, marking the first odd-time ending for the show on the streaming service. It’s not something that will be celebrated or remembered beyond this week, but it’s worth noting that WWE wasted little time in utilizing this freedom to their advantage and closing out Raw when the show finished rather than padding out the runtime to reach a familiar program length.
