8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (13 Jan - Results & Review)

6. Clean Finish, Moving On

WWE Raw Ludwig Kaiser Sheamus
WWE

Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser feel like they’ve been feuding for 86 years, apparently battling for the nonexistent title of “He who slaps the other the hardest”.

Their match, as predicted, was a tough, physical battle that kept fans grimacing throughout as they teed off on each other. They didn’t really break new ground from their previous battles, but the big development here was that Sheamus won the match cleanly, seemingly ending the feud for good.

Even better, the Celtic Warrior immediately got face-to-face with Bron Breakker, setting up a match between the two for the Intercontinental Championship. Considering how the three men had feuded over the title in the fall before Sheamus landed on the shelf, this was the best possible outcome: it gave the Kaiser/Sheamus match meaning by propelling Sheamus to the title match, and it closed the door on a rivalry that needed to end.

Otherwise, this was just good background noise and some solid wrestling.
