8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (15 April - Results & Review)

5. DIY Gets First Crack

DIY Creeds New Day

One had to wonder who was going to be the first tag team to challenge Awesome Truth, the one-note tag champs on Raw.

DIY won a fun little triple threat tag team match that included the Creed Brothers and New Day and featured a lot of entertaining sequences between all six wrestlers. The Creeds naturally showed off their insane strength and athletic prowess, while New Day was solid as ever. But Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano were in the right place at the right time to nail Meet in the Middle after a hectic closing sequence to pick up the win at the title shot.

The question here is whether DIY will be sacrificed to what is essentially a comedy tag team that was a feel-good story at WrestleMania 40, or if they quickly and quietly end the Cinderella story and put the newly rechristened tag titles back on a more serious platform.

Logic would say that now is the time to pull the trigger on a DIY main roster tag title run. They’ve already fallen short once, and losing to a comedy duo in a straight wrestling match would probably send them hurtling down the card.
