8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (28 Nov - Review)

4. Selling Yim As A Threat

When Mia Yim and Rhea Ripley started their singles match, it didn’t feel like a good showcase for Michin, like they were going at less than full tilt.

It soon became clear why, as the match ended in a DQ due to Judgment Day and the OC brawling all over the place, prompting an eight-person tag. The women steered clear of the action until the final stretch, getting hot tags after the fans had been whipped up.

Yim got to run wild on Ripley, getting a pretty good reaction, but then she did something only Rhea had done recently: she bodyslammed a man, hoisting up and dumping Finn Balor, getting huge cheers. Then she set up to suplex Dominik Mysterio to an even bigger reaction, only for Mami to save and hit the Riptide for the win.

While it’s still fairly clear that Ripley is being positioned for bigger things next spring, Yim looked like a threat and held her own Monday night, which is what you’d want, and having her be a highlight of a pretty hot opener is a good way to do things.
