8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 22)

Downs...

5. Illogical Booking

Impact Wrestling's booking is, for the most part, credible. They're able to make stars just by putting the pieces in the correct slots, something that Moose knows all about. Why have we mentioned Moose, you ask? Because Scott D'Amore has given 'Mr. Impact Wrestling' a match on the first Impact of 2021 as he defends the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Matthew Palmer (the security guard who ripped his suit jacket by accident, for those asking).

The caveat here is that Palmer doesn't actually need to defeat Moose to win the title. He simply needs to last the three minutes that Moose doesn't believe he can last. If this were a non-title clash, then sure, it's fine, but if we're meant to be taking the TNA title seriously, should it not be defended in proper scenarios?

D'Amore prefaced this, thankfully, as he explained how Palmer had travelled a fair distance to be part of the crew, all in the hopes of earning an opportunity. It just fell flat, sadly.
