8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling Slammiversary 2020

1. A Tommy Dreamer Match

Moose vs. Tommy Dreamer stood out like a sore thumb on this card. The rest of the card was packed full of exciting matches with plenty of mystique surrounding them as it pertains to debuts, returns, and overall match quality. This just wasn't interesting in any way though.

Even with the old school rules stipulation, which is essentially just a standard no disqualifications match for those wondering, it didn't offer anything too special. Sure, there were a few athletic spots from the defending TNA World Heavyweight Champion, including a beautiful dropkick that caught 'The Innovator of Violence' mid-flight, but it would be Moose who took most of the weapons-based offence. A failed moonsault saw 'Mr Impact Wrestling' land on some chairs, while he was then spiked on said chairs with a Dreamer DDT.

All of this apparently unfazed Moose though, as a Lights Out spear saw Dreamer land on a pile of thumbtacks, ensuring Moose retained his title. Or however it works with unsanctioned titles. Who knows what's to come next from Moose's title reign, but at least he has a fancy new championship strap to go with it.
