8 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (18 Sept - Results & Review)

5. Trust The Process

The knee-jerk reaction to Chad Gable losing cleanly to Bronson Reed would be to scream at the television that Vince McMahon has clearly grabbed the reins and is wondering why Shorty G is getting so much TV time.

But WWE and their fans have invested a lot into Gable in recent months, with the company telling some good stories with the former Olympian, so it’s only fair to grant them some leeway.

Gable was overmatched by the much bigger Reed, failing to suplex him as he promised, then getting squashed by a Tsunami splash. But this was far from a squash match.

Having faith in WWE to not abandon a midcard push that was really working is difficult after years of being burned, but it would be a bit rash to give in to histrionics after one week. Trust the process and see where the story leads in the coming weeks as Gable tries to find his way back to Gunther and the Intercontinental Championship.
