8 Ups & 6 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (June 28)

5. Intergender Wrestling Is Brilliant

If you're one of those people who thinks intergender wrestling doesn't have a place in wrestling, then what are you doing? It's 2019 people - get over it.

With that said, if you still don't think it's great, just watch the Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard segment this week. Callihan's comments about men being better than women aside, it was a highly enjoyable few minutes. He called Tessa out for her preaching about equal rights, leading to him beating her down with the help of the Crist brothers. The former Knockouts Champion was finished off with a piledriver, but not before taking a shot to the stomach from a baseball bat.

It wasn't a simple one-sided beatdown either as the 'Queen of the Carolinas' did fight back for a brief period of time prior to Dave and Jake Crist making their presence felt. The main thing here is that we're away from the days of this being nothing more than a sexist rant courtesy of Sami Callihan (and before him, Glenn Gilbertti). Now, it's actually great to watch. That match could steal the show when Slammiversary rolls into Dallas next weekend.
