8 Ups & 6 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (June 28)

1. Slammiversary Comes Early

As expected, Brian Cage ignored the instructions of his doctor and headed out to ringside, knowing fine well that Michael Elgin would likely make an appearance at one point or another. Elgin did eventually come out, and delivered a total of three powerbombs to the World Champion, the last of which tossed the 'Machine' over the top rope and through a table at ringside.

It wasn't just Brian Cage who felt the wrath of 'Big Mike' however, as commentator Don Callis was also taken out for simply asking Elgin what he was doing. The show went off the air with Cage and Elgin continuing to brawl but technically, the Slammiversary match is still up in the air as we found out earlier on in the night.

No matter what the doctors say though, the match is almost certainly going to take place next Sunday, right? The build has been perfect thus far considering Cage has been out on the injured shelf for the majority of it. It'd be a real shame to have to postpone the bout even longer, although it's unlikely that either man would be willing to wait any more.
