8 Ups & 6 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (June 28)
3. Unprepared Ace
According to Ace Austin, his loss to the returning TJP last week never actually happened because he wasn't prepared for an opponent like the WWE Cruiserweight Classic winner. If Ace is as good as he says he is, then shouldn't he be prepared for any opponent that may come his way, no matter who they are?
Since coming to Impact, there haven't really been any terrible Ace Austin moments. This however, was the wrong move for his sort of character. He's the cocky youngster - there's no benefit whatsoever to having him say that he wasn't prepared for the surprise opponent. Not only that, but he didn't really put up much of a fight in the match either. The last two weeks haven't been too kind to Double A.
We'll be getting a rematch on the Slammiversary go-home episode next week as TJP challenged Austin during this backstage segment, so hopefully Ace will have the opportunity there to get a win over the artist formerly known as Manik. Even if he doesn't win, he should at least put up more of a fight this time around.
