1. The Diamond Mine Arrives

For weeks we'd seen teases of a new star, faction, or segment coming to NXT by the name of The Diamond Mine. With the night drawing to a close and the main event nearly wrapped up, you had to assume the, erm, thing was set to arrive on the scene at some point in the closing stages. And arrive it did.

As Adam Cole and O'Reilly collided in the wake of the latter's victory in the show-closer, and Samoa Joe's army of security were made use of once again, KUSHIDA was left vulnerable in the middle of the ring. Cue the debut of The Diamond Mine; a unit comprised of a returning Roderick Strong, Tyler Rust, Hideki Suzuki and seemingly under the management of Malcolm Bivens.

Precisely what the dynamic force want at this moment in time is anything but clear. At this stage, though, you have to assume it has something to do with The Timesplitter or at the very least, sending a message to the rest of the locker room.

That being said, what is certain is that this holds the potential to be a long-awaited platform for the likes of Bivens and Rust to truly shine on, with Suzuki also being given a nice way of being eased onto the black and gold brand. What is curious, however, is exactly why Strong was so quick to join forces with another group of lads after his last team imploded so spectacularly not too long ago.

All these questions, will likely be answered in time. But consider us hooked...
