8 Ups And 0 Downs From WWE NXT (Sep 7)
6. The Creed Brothers Arrive
Your writer has been quite critical over the development of The Diamond Mine since the group's inception a few months back. Pointless defeats and the chopping and changing of members at such a nearly stage of their run on NXT has taken some of the shine off what was initially a rather exciting concept.
You'll be pleased to hear that after last night's black and gold show, it's safe to believe in the hype behind Malcolm Bivens' troupe of legit ass-kickers once again. Introducing The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus) in an in-ring capacity for the very first time, Bivens, Roderick Strong, and Hachiman watched on as the wrestling prodigies dismantled poor Chuckie Viola and Paxton Averill.
Launching their rivals through the air like they were fly-away beach balls, if Brutus' early explosion of offence was impressive, Julius' luxuriating in the pain of his opponents was downright disturbing. But the message was sent loud and clear; these lads mean business. Julius in particular impressed with his running tackle into a sickening clothesline combo for the win.
It goes without saying that we could be looking at future NXT Tag Team Champions here, or even the second coming of American Alpha, so here's hoping NXT and their new direction keep these lads looking as strong as they did last night.
