8 Ups And 1 Downs For WWE NXT (Feb 2)
5. Legado Shut Down The Lucha House Party
In recent times, the Lucha House Party have been embroiled in something of a war with Legado del Fantasma on the black and gold brand. After Gran Metalik fell to NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar at New Year's Evil, and the duo aided Curt Stallion fend off the squad a few weeks ago, LHP would now find themselves with a Legado shaped obstacle on their road to the Dusty Cup finals.
Showcasing a real clash of Lucha styles from the off, Metalik and Lince Dorado used their flashier take on the form to get the better of Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza from the off. Before long, though, Legado clipped the wings of their rivals with efficient drop kicks and a thought-out grounding plan.
The electric action eventually led to Metalik throwing caution to the wind, pulling off a ridiculous hurricanrana to Mendoza, perched on the second rope, onto his partner on the outside. This wasn't enough to put away the plucky party boys, however, as Legado sealed their place in the next round on the back of a sweet Russian Leg Sweep/Shining Wizard tag team ending.
Will Legado have enough to derail the momentum of NXT new boys MSK? If you believe the eccentric duo's post-match promo, the end could be near for Legado...
