The first time Brock Lesnar and Goldberg met at a PPV (WrestleMania XX), their 15-minute match was met with thunderous boos (because both were leaving WWE). The second time was at Survivor Series, and their 86-second affair was met with shock.

Sunday’s encounter lasted considerably longer than Survivor Series, but it didn’t overstay its welcome, with Brock exorcising his demons and finally defeating Goldberg and becoming the new WWE Universal Champion. To do so, he had to overcome four spears and a Jackhammer, but Lesnar also delivered 10 German suplexes and a decisive F-5 for the win. He also had a nifty leapfrog to avoid a fifth spear.

The match itself was never going to a four-star affair, but by keeping it simple and just delivering knockout punches for five minutes, we got a big fight feel and a memorable bout that crowned a new part-time wrestler as Raw champion.
