Ups...

8. A New Feeling

Delivering on the promise of a complete revamp and then some, NXT 2.0 came equipped with more freshness than a room full of freshly minted John Cena's (see TicTac obsession for reference). Gone were the drab plexiglass panels and gothic exterior, in their place was a sports hall type aesthetic that looked like it had been attacked by toddlers brandishing paint brushes.

All jokes aside, this injection of vibrancy was well overdue. NXT had grown stale both as an in-ring product and just plain visually in recent times. The arena layout, new stage and tron, music, style of video packages, graphics, lack of dumb screen invading your eyes all around the back walls, and all-round energy just felt exciting.

And speaking of new, the amount of new faces that were pumped onto the show also made for an intriguing watch as some talents relished their first night in the spotlight, whereas others proved that a focus solely on unproven youth isn't always a good thing from the get-go.

All-in-all though, despite fears of a tacky "main roster"-esque change-up, this was a massive improvement on what had been in its place before. So, here's hoping those given the ball can run with it in this bright new world.
