5. Imperium Dominate Maverick And His New Protégé

WWE.comAfter losing both of their recent title matches on NXT programming over the last few weeks, the Imperium unit were in need of a dominant 'W' last night. And luckily for them, they were coming up against the latest odd-couple starring Drake Maverick, joined this time by newcomer Grayson Waller.

Straight away, Waller offered his own brand of hyped up confidence in a pre-match promo, confessing that the real focus of the match should be the fact that it was his NXT debut. As you likely guessed, this naivety was quickly exploited by the former NXT Tag Team Champions as Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel took apart the disconnected duo in next to no time.

One Imperium-Bomb to Waller later, Imperium reigned supreme.

It was unquestionably the right result and any chance the NXT faithful have to watch Maverick explode around a ring or nail a comedic moment is time well spent. What the future holds for the Imperium men is anyone's guess. But with WALTER likely setting in motion a plan to regain his UK title in the coming months, expect this team to be kept extremely sharp by The Ring General.
