It’s been more than a year since Hideo Itami last competed at an NXT TakeOver special, and even though he’s officially back in action, he wasn’t on Saturday’s card. However, that didn’t stop him from making an impact.

After their match, Austin Aries locked in the Last Chancery again on No Way Jose, looking to take his opponent out for good. Cue Itami, who walked down to the ring to confront Aries. A-Double wasted little time in trying to get the upper hand, but he quickly found himself hoisted up on Itami’s shoulders, and Hideo delivered what the NXT fans chanted for: the Go-To-Sleep.

Itami might have originated the move, but CM Punk popularized it in WWE, which would explain why he never used it before his injury (at least, not in a notable way on a televised broadcast). WWE might have been gun-shy about Itami using the GTS for fear that fans would chant for Punk, but it looks like those fears have subsided.

Anyway, it looks like we’ve got Aries/Itami to look forward to now.
