8 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

4. Ember Moon Rising

Give NXT plenty of credit. The promotion knows how to debut a star and get them over, big time. It’s not a perfect track record, but they’ve earned a pretty good reputation.

Saturday was no exception, as Ember Moon made her debut against a very game Billie Kay, who also could have been dubbed the sacrificial lamb when she came out. Kay actually provided some nice offense, but this was Moon’s night to shine (no pun intended). She flipped out of a hiptoss to a nice reaction, along with a springboard crossbody and a handspring clothesline.

But it was her finisher, a top rope corkscrew stunner (formerly the O-Face, but that name likely will change), that had fans out of their seats in Brooklyn. Thankfully, Ember looks to be a lot more than red contacts and a flashy finishing move, and she should be a major player in the NXT women’s division very quickly.
