8 Ups And 3 Downs From NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II

6. Oversized Intros

While Bobby Roode’s “Glorious” entrance got its own entry in this column, we have to give a massive thumbs-up to the oversized entrances for TakeOver: Brooklyn II. The special event is very quickly becoming NXT’s version of WrestleMania, and the entrances definitely seem to point in that direction.

We saw several superstars come down to the ring with super-sized intros, not just Roode. For example, Bayley had extra inflatable wacky wavers at ringside. No Way Jose led an entire conga line around the ring to open the PPV. Asuka pulled a long sheet train down the aisle on her way to ringside.

But the winner (next to Roode) had to go to Shinsuke Nakamura, who had violinist Lee England Jr. play him down to the ring, accompanying the Japanese star’s entrance music in an awesome performance. England had fans roaring just for his playing, which added even more to Nakamura’s entrance.

WWE would do well to take notice of this and look to add a little something to their wrestlers’ entrances for PPV. They don’t have to save it all up for WrestleMania to make a performer’s entrance feel special.
