Normally, you would think the longtime, well-established tag team would hold an edge over the thrown-together tandem, but sometimes, chemistry can’t be denied.

In this case, Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle have just the right amount of chemistry to gel perfectly. They’re nearly polar opposite in personality, but that’s what has made the 2020 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners work so well so far.

And that chemistry helped the Broserweights overcome the Undisputed Era at TakeOver, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship in dramatic fashion. The frenzied pace of the tag title match was insane, and keeping up with it would be nigh impossible. But UE and Riddle & Dunne were a joy to watch as they pummeled each other with tandem offense, submission holds and stiff strikes.

The teased dissension between the Broserweights – Riddle accidentally speared Dunne after the Bruiserweight accidentally knocked the Original Bro off the apron – was a nice fake-out, as it never came to pass, and the team held together.

Let the celebration begin!
