After a pretty disappointing Extreme Rules PPV that underwhelmed and should be immediately forgotten, WWE needed to rebound in the worst way. Word was that Monday’s taping was delayed, possibly because they were rewriting Raw.

If that’s true, it actually paid off, as Raw was pretty damn enjoyable Monday night. The matches were mostly good, the promos delivered, and the angles worked. For the most part, everything clicked. Sure, there were a few things that were off, but you’re never going to have three hours of Raw that is flawless TV.

It’s worth noting that while Monday’s episode was good, it wasn’t great. There were few negatives, but the positives weren’t overwhelming either. This was one of those nights where if you caught Raw, you enjoyed yourself, but it also wasn’t a can’t-miss episode where you chatted up a friend afterward to discuss it.

Still, let’s give a modicum of credit to WWE for rebounding from a PPV that was widely panned – and for good reason. It would have been easy to just continue the disappointment. There’s no word yet whether this stopped the bloodletting of Raw’s ratings, but it didn’t stem the negative rantings here – at least for one week.

With that said, let’s get to it…
