8 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (20 March - Review)

6. Dominik’s Best Match Ever?

Did we just see Dominik Mysterio win a match clean – and on his own – on Raw Monday night?

Mysterio toppled Johnny Gargano in singles action, taking advantage of his injured ribs from last week’s NXT. Still, Dominik acquitted himself well in this bout, playing the cocky heel throughout, cheating by sticking his feet on the ropes on a pin attempt, and finishing Johnny Wrestling off with a frog splash to the injured back.

Really, credit should go to Gargano for carrying a pretty decent little match, but Dominik looked somewhat credible here, which is more than we’ve seen most of the time, where he’s always hiding behind his Judgment Day stablemates.

If we’re really going to get a father/son collision at WrestleMania, Dom’s got to at least look like he can credibly win a match, especially against a Hall-of-Famer in Rey. Picking up the win Monday night was a smart move, though we should criticize the decision to have Gargano be the opponent.
