You knew things weren’t going to end well for the returning MVP the minute he took a swipe at the fans.

The former WWE superstar hosted the VIP Lounge and welcomed Drew McIntyre for a chat Monday night, but it was more of a desperate pitch to talk himself back into relevance (in storyline). MVP played up how proud he was of Drew, but noted that “some people” don’t think he’s ready to be world champion. He then suggested that McIntyre needed a business manager to handle the naysayers out there.

McIntyre immediately pounced, comparing the proposition to the relationship Brock Lesnar has with Paul Heyman before declaring he didn’t need an ass-kisser to talk and think for him. MVP made the mistake of grabbing Drew, which led to a Claymore upending the VIP Lounge set.

This worked just fine at letting Drew show a little more personality without pandering to the fans and kept the heat on his WrestleMania title match without Brock around.
