8 Ups And 5 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 10)

5. Wooden Interviewer Needs To Go

The days of outstanding backstage interviewers like Mean Gene Okerlund or even notables like Kevin Kelly and a young Michael Cole are long gone, but that doesn’t mean we should just let the current crop become part of the scenery and ignore their performances.

While Charly Caruso has shown to be adept and more than capable of carrying a segment, her Raw colleague Sarah Schreiber is a nightmare. She’s wooden, unconvincing and almost cringeworthy every time she’s on camera. She sounds like she’s reading her question off a cue card that she’s just seen for the first time with all the conviction of a junior high understudy.

We’re not asking for the next Mean Gene, but when you could just put the mic on a stand and let wrestlers walk up to it and it feel more authentic, you need to reevaluate whether someone is adding to the product, or taking away from it.

In Schreiber’s case, she’s a detriment in nearly every segment she’s in.
