8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 22)

3. Buh-Bye Buckle Bomb

If Seth Rollins never hits a Buckle Bomb again, it will not be missed – especially not after the move claimed its second victim Sunday night.

This is not to fault Rollins, but his Buckle Bomb caused Sting to crumple during their Night of Champions match last year, which ultimately became the Stinger’s last match. And then at SummerSlam, Rollins hit the move on the outside into the barricade, which resulted in Finn Balor dislocating his shoulder.

Balor popped it back in place and went on to win the match, but Monday, he was forced to relinquish his newly won Universal Championship and will be on the shelf for six months. It’s just not worth the risk that seems associated with that move – a blind back bump into a turnbuckle or a wall just can’t be a “safe” move.
