When SummerSlam ended Sunday night, the last images we saw were Randy Orton lying in a pool of his own blood and Shane McMahon taking a vicious F5 while trying to check on his wrestler.

The next night on Raw, the closest thing to a follow-up we got was Stephanie McMahon agreeing with her brother that Brock Lesnar crossed the line at SummerSlam and that there would be repercussions… and that was it. There was no discussion of what those repercussions might be, no commentary from Paul Heyman, nothing.

Granted, it’s possible with the issue of a vacant WWE Universal Championship that there wasn’t really time to deal with this, so WWE decided to “let it breathe” for a week before revisiting the issue. But you have to consider that this was the main event and the last thing that happened on the PPV, and there was barely any follow-up. It just felt wrong to leave this issue unanswered or at least give any indication of what those repercussions would be or when they’d come.
