When Chris Jericho agreed on behalf of Kevin Owens for a Universal Championship match against Goldberg, it looked like the best friendship between the two was on the rocks.

Despite Jericho’s insistence, Owens was less than pleased with that development. But as we’ve seen before, just when it looks like the two Canadians are going to fracture, they pull it back together. And so on Monday night, KO was right there for Jericho during his United States Championship match against Sami Zayn, helping Y2J retain his title.

Owens’ superkick behind the ref’s back set up a Jericho Codebreaker for the win, and both men reconciled backstage later. It remains to be seen if their friendship will help Owens hold onto his title at Fastlane, but for now, we have next week’s Festival of Friendship to look forward to.
