Ever since losing the Raw Tag Team Championships, the New Day has felt like a group without a country or cause: They’ve individually feuded with Titus O’Neil; they’ve entered the Royal Rumble to win a Universal Championship title shot; and they’ve fought the Shining Stars.

The latter item came about Monday night, with the former tag champs facing off against Primo & Epico in their first match on Raw this year. And while the Shining Stars hung in there, the outcome wasn’t really in doubt, and they fell to New Day.

The criticism here was brought to the forefront by Corey Graves, who pushed back on Byron Saxton’s claim that the former champs still had a chip on their collective shoulder. Graves basically asserted that the group had lost its edge, and if they still had it, they’d still have the tag titles.

And really, the lackadaisical attitude from the trio lends itself to that view. New Day set a tag title reign record, desperately hanging onto the belts, and now they barely seem to outwardly care about reclaiming the titles. What gives?
