3. Battle Royal Tells A Story

Battle Royals can be extremely boring, meaningless matches. A bunch of guys get tossed out in random order until a few possible contenders remain, and then one of the likely suspects emerges victorious. But if a battle royal is good, then we can see multiple storylines advance during the match, whether it€™s through an elimination or a partnership in the ring.

In this case, we saw Dolph Ziggler continue his winning ways against Baron Corbin, eliminating the Lone Wolf. However, Corbin wasn€™t content to let that go, pulling Dolph out of the ring and assaulting him on the floor, then tossing him back into the ring to be eliminated by Rusev. That was a nice way to continue that feud and put over Baron€™s brutality.

Also, the final four scenario of the three former members of the League of Nations (Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio and Rusev) and Zack Ryder made for an interesting finish, with the trio teaming up to attack Zack. But then things fell apart, and it quickly got down to Ryder and Rusev, sending fans into a frenzy.

Even though the result really wasn€™t in doubt, it still was fun to see Zack get another brush with a title shot. And hopefully, this signals that Rusev€™s stock is finally rising again, and we€™ll see him climb the ranks.
