8 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Jan 11)

7. Return Of Crazy Old Vince

If there was an inkling that this was leading to Vince McMahon being ousted from power (in storyline) because he was old and out of touch, then it would be an awesome bit of storytelling, but since it€™s most likely not the case, this gets negative marks€ Week to week, Mr. McMahon looks more and more like he€™s lost some of his marbles. The greatest villain in WWE history worked well in limited doses last month, serving as a foil to the ascendant Roman Reigns, but the longer he€™s on the screen, the more he seems lost. He could barely remember Dolph Ziggler and New Day€™s names, and it just felt like Stephanie was leading him along at certain points. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhL2-TvqamE Maybe watching classic clips of Mr. McMahon feuding with €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin isn€™t best for making a comparison, but it seems clear that the longer Mr. McMahon is the villain, the more he€™s exposed as not being the same guy he was (and that many fans remember) from years ago. He€™s 70 now, and he seems more likely to tell Roman to get off his lawn than to get the hell out of his ring. Of course, Vince could always channel his old self and land in the €œups€ column next week, but it just felt off this week. Sorry McMahon fans.
