8 Ways WWE Can Build Interest In 205 Live

1. Remove The Restraints

Prior to the Cruiserweight division’s official rebirth, the biggest concern was that the wrestlers would be hampered by WWE’s in-ring restrictions, and wouldn’t be allowed to show the full range of their capabilities. This is exactly what has happened, and while you’ll see the odd flip or dive from the Cruisers, they’re largely working the same bland style as everyone else in the company.

Instead of letting the wrestlers use the skills that made them successful in the first place, WWE have them working chinlocks and arm wrenches. Their wings have been clipped, and until the restrictions are removed, they’re not going to be able to get over, regardless of any other changes WWE might make in the division.

What’s the point in having a designated Cruiserweight show if they’re not allowed to fly? There isn’t one. It’s not a massive problem for the likes of Jack Gallagher and TJP, who have always worked a more grounded style, but it has seriously hindered some of WWE’s most athletic wrestlers. Let them off the leash and 205 Live may finally stand-out as a unique and distinct brand, but continue along the current path and it will never escape its deep malaise.
