8 Ways WWE Can Make Samoa Joe The AJ Styles Of 2017
7. Avoid Braun Strowman
There’s one guy WWE need to ensure Samoa Joe stays far, far away from if he’s to be a main roster success - and his name is Braun Strowman.
The company have done an outstanding job in building the former Black Sheep of the Wyatt Family as a major force, and his push is about to go through the roof. Sooner or later, Braun is going to be in the Universal Title picture. His ascension is all but guaranteed, and if he progresses at his current rate, he’ll be a main event fixture for year to come.
Braun is a monster, and so is Joe. It’ll take some creative booking to split them up, but having them cross paths will only see one detract from the other. Joe and Braun have their differences, but these are outnumbered by their similarities. The last thing WWE want is these two stepping on each others’ toes.
It’s important to keep them apart from a physical standpoint too. At 6’8” and 385lbs, Braun is a far more imposing presence than the 6’2” Joe, and even positioning them in the same shot could take away from Joe’s own aura. Intimidation is a huge part of both characters, and Joe would lose much of his to Braun.
The most obvious way to keep the two apart would be for one of them to switch brands, of course, but we’ll get to that later...
