8 Ways WWE Fastlane Could Change WrestleMania 33
7. Owens Vs. Jericho Becomes Far More Important
Let's assume the opposite happens, that Lesnar doesn't get involved (or does so in order to hinder Goldberg) - and that Kevin Owens somehow, miraculously defeats him. This suddenly makes the inevitable KO vs. Y2J showdown a lot more important at WrestleMania.
Imagine how rabid the Orlando crowd would be if Jericho were to come agonisingly close to another world title reign so late in his career - and, better still, one entirely deserved. It's no stretch to say that Y2J has been one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world over the past year or so, constantly managing to feel fresh despite having made his WWE debut almost 20 years ago.
Ultimately, I think I'd be happier with this outcome. Lesnar vs. Goldberg doesn't need a world title strapped to it in order to feel huge, whereas KO vs. Jericho suddenly becomes an even bigger deal. Equally, if Goldberg or Lesnar walks out of Orlando with the belt, WWE suddenly have to deal with the issue of a part-timer holding one of their world championships - very restrictive in terms of booking.
