No one other than the Total Divas cast appear to appreciate being known as Divas, and the fact that it's become an almost derogatory title (or certainly one associated with mediocrity) helps no one. It wouldn't be at all difficult for the announce team to start using that less and less in order to help create a transition to the Divas Division becoming known as the Women's Division, but it doesn't appear as if there's any plan for that to happen, and so it's no wonder that such a large chunk of the audience appear to have such little respect for these female competitors. After all, would you take Ronda Rousey anywhere near as seriously if she were the UFC Divas Bantamweight Champion? Sure, she'd still be delivering in the Octagon, but it's a title which lacks importance and that's bound to have an impact on how anyone is viewed. The title belt itself is another problem. It looks like a toy and lacks any sort of prestige as a result. It's marketable appearance may be good news for whichever toy company is pumping out replicas these days, but it's a struggle to take even someone like Charlotte seriously when she has that garish pink monstrosity hanging around her waist. Honestly? The best thing which could have happened is her dumping it in a trash can Madusa style and unveiling a brand new WWE Women's Championship belt. This may seem nitpicky or just a surface change which probably doesn't sound like it would lead to much of a difference, but it surely would help the Divas, sorry, Women's Division in the long run.
