Matt Cardona is doing some of the best work of his career right now. From appearing in AEW last year to working in IMPACT, this year and his surprise appearance and a big win at GCW, Cardona is currently one of the best heels in the business.
The former Zack Ryder has always been able to get himself over and been ahead of the curve in what can be achieved through the power of social media. He is a very talented worker and this year he has proven he is so much more than just the "Woo Woo Woo" version of himself we saw in WWE. Cardona has beefed up and worked on this new obnoxious character who lives in delusions of grandeur while declaring himself the best in the business.
He actively baits the GCW crowd, who he calls the GCW Universe, enjoying the hate he recieves, while being one of the most entertaining characters on the American Independent scene right now. His run with the GCW World Championship started on 24 July, after beating Nick Gage in a Deathmatch. His time as champion included the introduction of a spinner belt and dressing as Vince McMahon, though he lost the championship to Jon Moxley on 4th September.
