8 Worst WWE Tag Champs Of Brand Extension Era

7. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins (Raw)

Wait, weren’t the Shield awesome tag champs? Well, yes, but this is a rather infamous title reign that marked the downward spiral of Dean Ambrose in WWE.

Ambrose had returned from a triceps injury in the summer of 2018, and the Shield reunited in short order, but Dean almost immediately started teasing dissension. The same night that Roman Reigns announced his leukemia had returned and he left WWE, Ambrose & Rollins captured the Raw tag titles, defeating Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre.

Immediately after winning the titles, Ambrose turned on Rollins, leaving him to defend the titles alone two weeks later in a losing effort against AOP. Just like that, the tag titles were passed along as little more than a prop.

And Ambrose would spiral as a heel, as fans might remember this period when Dean wore a gas mask to the ring, got a bunch of vaccinations to protect himself against the fans and then would start losing a lot before leaving WWE the following spring.
