This is WWE's last chance to come through for Shinsuke Nakamura and portray him as the serious headliner anyone who watched his work in New Japan knows he can be. If Naka comes up short against AJ Styles at 'Mania (like he did against Jinder Mahal at last year's SummerSlam), there may be no saving his main event aspirations.

Don't worry: SmackDown's writers know this, and they'll give Shinsuke the crowd-pleasing win on Sunday night.

Winning the Royal Rumble is a sure sign that WWE are finally ready to push Nakamura properly and use Styles to give him a leg up. Then, AJ can either receive that tired contractual rematch or waltz off to Raw and resume the Bullet Club-style power struggle against Finn Bálor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Nakamura is about to become WWE Champion, and though he may never be the promo guy those writing TV blatantly wish he could be, he's deserving of the opportunity to be SmackDown's top man and supplant Styles.
