8 Wrestlers Being Buried By WWE's Scripted Promos
5. Bayley
Remember Bayley turned heel and everybody was super happy about it? WWE sure sucked the air out of that balloon with their lack of follow up ever since.
Certain things have been handled well, such as the change in her look and music and the sacrificing of the Bayley buddies to the heel wrestling gods. But yet her scripting on the mic is just so uninspired given the great reaction her turn received, it almost doesn't matter.
When asked about her turn, she gives a vague sort of "did it for The Rock" answer, saying it was for friendship of Sasha Banks. That and the tired trope of "I was tired of having to please the fans all the time" that has been lazily pasted on every shoulder shrug heel turn since the beginning of time.
There have been glimmers of hope as she shows an apathetic, hate the world sort of attitude - particularly showcased when she was on guest commentary - but there lies the problem: her actual promos don't further her character at all.
This is an all too familiar problem, and it has really ended a lot of the solid momentum the heel turn naturally built. With Survivor Series now creating a third wheel feel around Bayley given the hype around a Shayna versus Becky clash, she desperately needs a moment to shine.
And another Sasha Banks filled scripted bore fest right before Sunday might bury this heel run before it even gets off the ground.
