8 Wrestlers Who Should Compete In A NXT Title Tournament

6. Roderick Strong

Speaking of weaving stories into the prospective tournament, it'd be a good idea to do that with the Undisputed Era lads. In this fan's opinion, keeping Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly in the tag division is the best bet. That leaves Adam Cole (more on him later) and Roderick Strong as possible contenders in the tourney.

Wouldn't it be something if Strong started out with the goal of helping Cole win the title before realising he was coming close himself?

Now obviously this would rely on some teased tension within the Era ranks. That's manageable so long as WWE don't get carried away and knee-jerk a turn for somebody just for the sake of it. If Roddy's tale presents a realistic story of somebody only there to help another before growing in confidence and believing he can do it himself, it'll work.

Then, possibly after losing to Cole at the semi-final stage, Strong can snap out of his personal quest and once again be all for the idea of bringing gold home to his stable.
