8 Wrestlers Who Should've Been Hired Over 8 Current WWE Stars

4. Neville & Finn Balor Instead Of King Barrett & Sheamus

In 2007, WWE signed the European trio of Wade Barrett, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. In 2015 only Barrett and Sheamus remain, and are arguably less over now than they were eight years prior. When one considers that Sheamus is currently on the surface one of the most illogical Money In The Bank briefcase holders ever and Barrett is a King of the Ring winner teaming with Stardust in a match that involves actor Stephen Arnell of Archer fame, it's quite telling. While both technically solid grapplers, there's something about both of them that's missing from their presentation that sees neither of them shattering a glass ceiling potentially growing over their careers. However, if WWE had taken a flyer on another Brit-Irish pair, the very successful and rising Neville and Finn Balor's WWE careers could've started nearly a decade ago. In 2007, Balor was being favorably compared to Chris Benoit by New Japan Pro Wrestling, while Neville was on a career arc similar to Chris Jericho, as had just been cosigned by Matt Sydal as a high flyer on the rise and literally touring worldwide. In hiring what could've easily been seen as comparable to bringing on a new generation Benoit and Jericho while they were super young, amazing things could've been transpiring in WWE for at least 10 years prior to the present day..
