8 Wrestling Matches That Happened For The First Time Ever In WCPW

6. Moose Vs. Drew Galloway

Now that he’s back in WWE, Drew Galloway’s Impact Wrestling days feel like they happened in a different era, but he only parted with the company in February 2017. A former TNA World Champion, his last major storyline saw him feud with Moose over the gimmicky Grand Championship, with the duo trading wins back and forth over three singles matches in January.

Impact weren’t the first company to book the duo against each other, however. They met for the first time on the ninth episode of WCPW loaded back in August 2016, and as expected for two men of their size, it was a slugfest.

The hyper-athletic Moose struggled to gain a foothold, with Galloway countering his Game Breaker finisher on five separate occasions, but still inflicted a his fair share of offence. A Sky High powerbomb and particularly nasty spear almost put Drew away, but the Scotsman endured, flipping out of a backslide and right into his Future Shock DDT for the victory.

It was Moose’s first WCPW defeat, and Galloway’s second consecutive singles win. Drew would eventually use the momentum to launch himself into a WCPW Title feud with Joseph Conners, winning the belt in November, and holding it all the way through to April.
