8 Wrestling Matches That Happened For The First Time Ever In WCPW

4. Will Ospreay & Bea Priestley Vs. Ricochet & Tessa Blanchard

Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet is one of modern wrestling’s greatest in-ring rivalries. They’ve met many times over the past few years, but it was their NJPW Best Of The Super Juniors XXIII bout that caught the most attention in May 2016. The world’s two premier high-fliers put on an incredible spectacle that night, and while their extreme athleticism drew criticism from wrestling traditionalists, it enraptured everyone else.

Loaded 19 was their 14th match against each other, but the first time they’d met with their respective life partners by their side. Ospreay and girlfriend Bea Priestley teamed against Ricochet and his significant other, Tessa Blanchard, for a match that was not only bags of fun, but totally different to their previous encounters.

Each participant had ample time to shine, but Ospreay was the deciding factor. He booted Tessa with a corkscrew kick after she’d taken Bea out, before draping Priestley over Blanchard for the victory. Despite this, Ricochet had the last laugh, nailing his rival with a Benadryller to effectively set up a singles match between the two for True Destiny on 12 February, in which he was victorious.
