8 Wrestling Society X Wrestlers Who Went On To Bigger Things
4. Colt Cabana
You might be surprised to learn that Cabana was an alumnus of Wrestling Society X, but since he competed under a mask, you're forgiven. (Actually, considering the promotion's dismal reputation, wearing a mask was a pretty smart call overall.)
As old-school wrestler Matt Classic, the highlight of his time in WSX was actually his profile, which listed him as a former heavyweight champion who captured the gold in 1952. This was utterly ridiculous, but given the high-octane style of WSX, it was only the ninth or tenth most ridiculous thing you'd see in a given episode.
After his brief stint on MTV, Cabana went on to become one of the kings of the indie wrestling scene, capturing the NWA world title and serving as an inspiration to all indie wrestlers that you don't need the WWE machine behind you to make a good living as a pro.
(Yes, I'm ignoring his time in WWE, because they basically ignored his time in WWE too.)
