8 WWE Busts Who Revived Their Careers

3. Dominik Mysterio

Rhea Ripley Liv Morgan
WWE

One of several wrestlers on this list to benefit from the purple midas touch of the Judgment Day (rather awkwardly, a development that only really occurred when Edge was booted from the group), 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio truly found himself as the ultra-protected and babied slime-ball of a retooled Raw stable.

Who knew nepo-babies were figures of fun, rather than heroism

Not Vince McMahon, evidently, but with the chairman's disgraced exit shunted to confirmed in the summer of 2022, new creative chief Triple H set about getting on with putting several characters where they should have been for a long time. There had been resistance in the past to turning Mysterio heel, particularly from father Rey as the natural reality was that the turn would simply have to come at his expense. However, whether it was a renewed trust in the process or his own reality check around Dom's sinking babyface cred, Clash At The Castle brought about the confirmed arrival of the son-gone-bad, and the relationships with Rhea Ripley, Finn Bálor and Damian Priest bore fruits that continued to grow for years in the aftermath.

Presumably, even Rey himself came around to the idea - the two competed in a pulsating bells-and-whistles WrestleMania 39 battle that earned critical raves on a show not short on major talking points.
