8 WWE Matches That Should Have Meant Way More
5. Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania XX)
Over a decade after their first encounter, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg would finally have matches that clicked at Survivor Series 2016 and WrestleMania 33. Rewind to 2004, though, and they stunk the place out at 'Mania XX; not even the addition of Steve Austin as guest referee could stop the MSG crowd from turning on the departing duo.
If Lesnar and Goldberg didn't want to be in WWE, then why give them the time of day? That was the general feeling in '04, and it destroyed any chances of this mega-match meaning anything. If only things had been different, because this was a WWE-created monster going up against his WCW equivalent.
Lesnar vs. Goldberg looked like pure box office gold when both had a stare down at Survivor Series 2003 and later got physical at No Way Out. The match turned into a disaster only notable for crowd apathy and Austin hitting both with Stunners, and that's a real shame.
