8 WWE Matches That Should Have Meant Way More

6. Hulk Hogan vs. Yokozuna (WrestleMania IX)

WrestleMania 9 farce Yokozuna Hulk Hogan

The main title match for the first ever King Of The Ring pay-per-view was sullied by what happened at WrestleMania IX. There, Mr. Fuji nonsensically challenged Hulk Hogan to beat his Yokozuna for the WWE Title. A few minutes later, the Hulk was back on top of the WWF mountain.

It can be easily argued that Hogan's magic had faded by 1993, but fans would have been interested had clashes between Hogan and Yoko been promoted properly. This needed to be Hulkamania attempting to show it could still run wild, rather than the promotion's top heel looking like an also-ran who was only keeping the belt warm for an established veteran.

Yoko should have crushed Hulk at 'Mania. Sure, we wouldn't have had that heroic babyface ending to the show, but Yokozuna would have looked like a complete killer. Then (and only then), a King Of The Ring match with Hogan could've meant something.
